(Dec. 8, 2015)  – Throughout the year, we have the opportunity to speak with and get to know some amazing church ministries that are passionate and dedicated to improving their communities. In honor of the holidays, we wanted to support a few of the causes that continue to inspire us each day.

This past November, we asked churches across the country to submit a short description about their missions and how our $500 donation could help. We’re excited to announce that three winners have been chosen! Congratulations to:

  • Hazel Dell Christian Church (Carmel, IN)
  • Healing Place Church: Baton Rouge (Baton Rouge, LA)
  • Light of the Village (Prichard, AL)

Take a look at what these three churches are doing to help their communities!

Hazel Dell Christian Church (Carmel, IN)

Hazel Dell Christian Church is a church community in a suburb on the North side of Indianapolis. Their student ministry has partnered with Restored, an Indianapolis non-profit focused on rescuing and bringing awareness to human trafficking in Indiana. With nearly 17,500 men, women, and children trafficked within the US annually, the student ministry committed to three objectives this year for Restored:

  1. Raise awareness about Restored’s mission
  2. Raise funds
  3. Raise prayer warriors to pray back the evil of human trafficking

They will use this donation to help bring awareness and rescue to Indiana victims of human trafficking.

Healing Place Church (Baton Rouge, LA)

Healing Place Church is a multi-campus church based in Baton Rouge, LA with a vibrant church community. This holiday season, the church will be having a 3:20 Offering (based on Ephesians 3:20) to provide holiday outreach across their community. For Thanksgiving, this offering funded outreaches like Hams for Fams, where as a church community, they delivered Thanksgiving meals to families in need. At a nearby sister campus, they also fund Christmas meals for cancer patients and their families. “We deliver them to their door and stand with them through a trying season of their life by letting them know God loves them—no strings attached!”

Light of the Village (Prichard, AL)

Located in one of the most violent and impoverished neighborhoods in Alabama, Light of the Village is a small church dedicated to serving the inner city.

“This Christmas, the thing our high school seniors want most is the chance to graduate from high school. Many of their families cannot afford the senior dues or cap and gown fees.” Light of the Village is very proud of their seniors’ accomplishments. To prevent financial stressors from clouding this time of celebration, they want to sponsor their seniors for Christmas.
