(June 2, 2015) – I’m excited to announce the launch of the new Discover Bluebridge app! This app gives CVBs, DMOs, and communities a tangible, working example of what to expect in a Bluebridge Tourism app.

Rather than just giving you wireframes and screenshots of a graphic design mock-up, we’ve developed a real, working app that showcases all the features and functionality that Bluebridge Tourism apps have to offer so you can see it in action.

Here are some of the features and functions that we’re excited to share in the new Discover Bluebridge app:

Visitors Guide

Bringing visitors to your destination is only the first step, but struggling to engage and delight visitors after their arrival is a common challenge. The Discover Bluebridge app includes a visitors guide that highlights valuable area information, such as the best places to eat, stay, and play. Each of these categories are filled with:

– Directories and descriptions

– Striking imagery

– Contact information

– GPS and directions

– “Near Me” functionality with distances to local attractions and businesses

The visitors guide helps engage and delight visitors, ensuring they have a great time and visit again.

Concierge

Mobile apps are constantly used during travel, so it makes sense to deliver the information visitors want in an experience-tailored package. The Discover Bluebridge app’s concierge function shows relevant attractions and businesses organized by users’ length of stay, age, and time of day. For example, the “Quick Adventures” page gives users a list of attractions if they have an hour or two to kill versus the “Half Days” or “Extended Stays” pages for visitors with more time on their hands. Like the Visitors Guide, each page in the Concierge contains descriptions, images, contact information, directions, and distances to relevant attractions and businesses.

Itinerary

Suppose a user finds an attraction, restaurant, business, or event (available in the integrated event calendar feed) in the Discover Bluebridge app that interests them. That user can then add any of those items to their personal itinerary page by selecting “add to itinerary” on the respective business or event’s page. This way, all the user’s things to do and places to visit are always easily and quickly accessible.

These are only a few of the features and functionalities the Discover Bluebridge showcases. Download the Discover Bluebridge app today (iOS or Android) to try out a Bluebridge app and see what an app for your destination could look like!
